The HI Way

Our Emmy® Award winning television show is grounded in our sense of place and the many diverse cultures that make Hawaiʻi special. HTY partnered with NMG Network and Hawaii News Now during the pandemic to create a new type of childrenʻs television program featuring original music, lovable puppets, and the talents of the HTY resident ensemble. HTY members have access to the full library of HI Way videos.

New HI Way Episode!

This week on THE HI WAY, join us for the premiere of our brand new episode, Happy Sad Sad Happy.

The episode is designed for our youngest audiences members and features a puppet film based our live show by Annie Cusick Wood and The HTY Ensemble which toured Oʻahu preschools throughout the Spring.

The show and HI WAY episode explore emotions and our characters use their own special, made-up language. When a sad face is discovered at The Happy Factory, the Guardians, set off to investigate. As the adventure unfolds, they come face to face with happiness, sadness and all emotions in between. They learn that embracing a vast array of emotions can play a valuable role in life’s dynamic journey.

Episode will be broadcast on Hawaiʻi News Now stations.
• Thursday 6/1 at 7:00pm on K5
• Saturday 6/3 at 2:00pm on KGMB
